Examples of dental emergencies include toothache, broken teeth, lost teeth, or anything causing pain or distress. In these cases of emergency, our team will complete an oral exam to determine the cause of discomfort. These causes could include tooth decay, tooth trauma, gum disease, an infection, and an abnormal bite.

Please do not hesitate to reach out and allow our staff to address the emergency.

Trauma

  • If the tooth is chipped and sensitive, call dental office at the earliest convenience.
  • If the tooth is broken in half with or without pulp exposure, call the dental office to schedule tooth repair.
  • If the tooth is loose and bleeding around the gumline, call the dental office to schedule temporary braces to stabilize the tooth.

  • If the jaw is broken or suspected to be broken, noticeable if upon opening the mouth jaw moves left or right rather than up and down, emergency treatment is required. Contact an oral surgeon.
